Having trouble letting go of a university society.

I have been in this situation - enjoyed it, took up a lot of my time, had good friends there .
In final year I was forced to give up this society as was in hospital a long time following surgery . I then decided I had to focus on my last year and chose not to rejoin.
In the end I kept my close friends from the society - but I didn't miss all the time that it ate up in terms of running it. It meant that there was less of my time eaten up by voluntary activities!
