Medicine - previous study

Hi,

I noted that graduates are still able to apply for tuition fee loans for Medicine. I have completed one year of previous undergraduate study and started a second, which counts as 2 for Student finance purposes.

I am currently applying for Medicine in the 2017/18 academic year. If I was applying for a non NHS course I would not be eligible for student finance in the 1st year of my degree. (5 years Medicine course, + 1, -2 years started = 4 years finance remaining, must fund first year myself!)

Assuming I would otherwise be eligible, would I be able to get funding for the full 5 years of a medicine course due to it being an NHS course, or like for other courses just the final 4?

Many Thanks
Hi,

Would it be graduate entry or undergraduate medicine you would be completing?

Thanks

Hi,

You would only be fully supported in the final 4 years and a maintenance loan only in year 1.

If you have Compelling personal reasons for why you did not complete your first course then you can provide this to us and we can look to provide an additional year.

Thanks.
